Peugeot want revenge at Imola, but what about Ferrari? Beaten in the final hours of racing at Le Mans, they will want to do well on thier 'home' round of the ILMC ... Starting with Giancarlo Fisichella!
A member of the AF Corse team, he knows the Circuit Enzo and Dino Ferrari, where he raced eleven Grand Prix Formula 1.
Giancarlo Fisichella: "Of course, being Italian, I love driving at Imola, but it's deeper than that. This is my home race. I won my first Grand Prix in Formula 3 there and I scored my first points in Formula 1 with Jordan in 1997 (fourth). While my first win in the discipline took place in Brazil, I did not receive the winner's trophy until Imola! So it is a place filled with good memories. "
"The circuit itself is difficult for the brakes and you have to ride the curbs a lot. You must have a powerful package at all levels to be fast here. Drivers must have confidence in the behavior and reactions of their car, you need the right tyres and a powerful engine. Imola is a mixture of fast and slow corners and of course, you have to be very aggressive cornering. "
6 Hours of Imola, the fourth round of the ILMC will be on Sunday, 3rd July.
