The main protagonists of the 2010 season of American Le Mans Series (ALMS), HPD and Porsche will have to reckon with Lola in the seventh round at Road America.
To underline victory two weeks ago at Mid-Ohio was, Guy Smith (pictured above) posted the fastest time of the test session yesterday. Paul Drayson and Jonny Cocker confirmed the pace of the Drayson Racing Lola at the circuit of Wisconsin by putting in the best performance of the two free practice sessions, ahead of Smith in the Dyson (Dyson Racing). The HPD of Brabham-Pagenaud and the Porsche RS Spyder of Bernhard Graf were are relegated to the third and fourth.
In LMP Challenge, PR1 Mathiasen Motorsports dominated in both sessions, with sixth best time overall.
In GT, The Milner-Auberlen BMW and Hand-Müller (Rahal Letterman Racing) held the top two places early in the session ahead of the Ferrari F430 GT Solomon Kaffer (Risi Competizione) but Corvette Racing ultimately made the fastest time with Magnussen-O'Connell and Beretta-Gavin respectively first and third framing Mika Salo and Pierre Kaffer, once again the fastest Ferrari. Also note that Scott Sharp and Johannes van Overbeek in the Extreme Speed Motorsports Ferrari was been quicker than the F430 GT of Risi Competizione Jaime Melo and Gimmi Bruni, the main opponents to Flying Lizard Motorsports Porsche in the title race.
