Ryan Briscoe : Le Mans and Indy

The Austrailian driver wants to race in both events !

Ryan Briscoe wants to race the Indianapolis 500 and the 24 Hours of Le Mans in May and June.

The Monaco Grand Prix, the Indianapolis 500 and the 24 Hours of Le Mans are often called "three greatest motor races in the world." Only Graham Hill has won them all, winning the notional "Triple Crown." Yet, it is not uncommon to see a driver running in the same year both at Indianapolis and Le Mans, as did Sebastien Bourdais in 2012 and Marco Andretti in 2010. In 1967, AJ Foyt managed the feat of winning both events with an interval of just 15 days!

This year, Ryan Briscoe enters the adventure. The Australian without a full Indycar programe after seven seasons in the discipline, recently won in the LM P2 class at the 12 Hours of Sebring. He now plans to continue the programme in June, alongside Scott Tucker and Marino Franchitti again in one of the Hondas of Level 5 Motorsports. He performed well in the fabulous Porsche RS Spyder with Penske between 2007 and 2008 - winning four victories in ALMS.

Ryan Briscoe, driver: "It would be nice to continue with these guys (Level 5 Motorsports) for the remainder of the year. I know they will go to Le Mans ... That would be an amazing experience for me. I've never gone. It would be great. My schedule is open for the month of May. I'll look at what possibilities exist for the Indy 500 and the endurance races.”

The Indy 500 will be on the 26th of May and the 24 Hours of Le Mans on 22nd and 23rd of June.
