Sarrazin: "a wake-up call for Toyota!"

Stéphane Sarrazin left Le Mans for home the day after the 2015 24 Hours and since then has been trying to recover. As for all the members of the Toyota team, the 2015 edition felt like a painful technical knock-out from which it is hard to come back.

"We knew we were clearly behind, but we didn't think our competitors would end up so reliable, he underscored with some disappointment! To see Porsche and Audi at that level and with such reliability, that more than surprised us."

"It seems like a good wake-up call, he continued. I think it will advance things internally. Last year we were the strongest, and we led the race for 17 hours before losing because of an overheated electrical cable that caused a fire in the car. This year, we were reliable but didn't have the performance level."

"Last winter, he concluded, we gained three seconds per lap. That's pretty huge and we were pleased…Without them, they gained five seconds! We are going to work and be proactive. Don't count us out just yet…"
