Another hour another caution period, this time a shorter one when the #025 Dempsey Racing FLM car was stuck in a tyre barrier at 14:40. The ensuing pit stop frenzy caused a slight shuffling of the race order. Racing was resumed when the green flag came out at at 15:02 with four and a half hours completed.
Almost as soon as the green flag dropped the #15 Oak Racing car made contact with one of the two Rebellion cars (#12 and #13) that were running closely together at Turn 10, putting the #15 into a spin.
In LMP1 and overall at the end of the 5th hour the #2 Audi R18 of McNish / Kristensen / Capello was leading, followed by the #3 Audi of Bernhard / Dumas / Duval and the #1 Audi of Tréluyer / Fässler / Lotterer in 3rd. The leading petrol powered LMP1 remains the #6 Muscle Milk HPD ARX 03a, staying in touch and on the same lap as the Audis.
HPD 1-2 in LMP2 at present with the #055 Level 5 Motorsports HPD ARX 03b Tucker / Bouchut / Barbosa leading the class at the turn of the hour followed by the #44 Starworks Motorsports HPD ARX 03b. The Pecom Racing #49 Oreca-Nissan in 3rd.
The three leading cars of the LM GTE Pro class are all still on the same lap, with the #77 Team Felbermayr-Proton Lieb / Lietz / Pilet Porsche leading the class from the #71 AF Corse Ferrari F458 Italia and the Aston Martin Vantage V8 #97
A lead change this hour in LM GTE Am with the #50 Larbre Competition Corvette displacing the #57 Krohn Racing Ferrari. The #88 Team Felbermayr-Proton Porsche rounds off the top 3 in class.
