The competitors begin the final three hours of the 60th 12 Hours of Sebring with the nr2 and nr3 Audis continuing to show a clean pair of heels to the rest of the field that still has seen very few retirements in the first 9 hours.

The first half an hour was green with McNish holding a comfortable 40 second lead over the nr3 Audi.

Several cars had stop-go penalties - nr21 for a speed violation during the pitstop and nr71 and nr55 for overtaking under yellow flags.

The Safety Car was deployed once again just after 7 O'clock when the nr30 Porsche (ALMS) went into the tyre wall. The driver emerged unscathed but the tyre wall was badly damaged.

After repairs were carried out the race went green with McNish pitting to hand the lead Audi over to Dindo Capello and the nr3 Audi was handed over to Loic Duval.

There were more penalties with car 41 given a stop go for speeding in pitlane, nr52 a stop go for a pitlane violation, nr77 a stop +20s penalty forhaving an extra member of the pitcrew in the pitlane and nr 28 a stop +1m58s penalty for passing the safety car.
