Six major circuits to host the 2021 Michelin Le Mans Cup

The recently confirmed 2021 calendar sees the Michelin Le Mans Cup take in six major European circuits.

Five out of six Michelin Le Mans Cup rounds are scheduled to coincide with the European Le Mans Series and the Ligier European Series. Road to Le Mans will be a curtain-raiser to the 89th 24 Hours of Le Mans on 12-13 June.

The full schedule is as follows:

  • 14 April: Test Day in Barcelona
  • 16-17 April: Barcelona round
  • 10-12 June: Road to Le Mans
  • 9-10 July: Monza round
  • 27-28 August: Le Castellet round
  • 17-18 September: Spa-Francorchamps round
  • 23-24 October: Portimão round

The schedule is subject to change according to the evolution of the current health crisis.

Pierre Fillon, president of the Automobile Club de l’Ouest: “Since it began in 2016, the Michelin Le Mans Cup has proved to be an ideal stepping stone for teams and drivers looking to gain experience, thanks to the generous time at the wheel offered to bronze drivers. This schedule boasts the perfect combination of technical and demanding circuits, including the Circuit des 24 Heures du Mans. I look forward to watching the endurance racing stars of tomorrow take to the track in 2021."

Michelin Le Mans Cup General Manager Gérard Neveu: “The 2020 championship was affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, so the 2021 schedule provides stability, with no venue changes.
Road to Le Mans remains top of the bill, taking place as it does at the famous Circuit des 24 Heures du Mans. Having won the Michelin Le Mans Cup in 2016, TF Sport went on to win LMGTE Am at this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans, which proves the importance of feeder series in helping teams reach the top level in endurance."
