Five-times winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans (2000, 2001, 2002, 2006, 2007), four times 12 Hours of Sebring (2000, 2003, 2004, 2007) and American Le Mans Series (2003, 2005), Frank Biela has enriched his record in endurance racing this weekend, by success with his Audi R8 LMS in a rather special 24h race at the Nurburgring.
At 1.83 metres tall, Frank Biela is one of great drivers, height can be a disadvantage in a race car, but size becomes an advantage when it comes to towering over an entire circuit. Because this time, the German was not inside the Audi but he was driving nearby with trigger in hand, joined by team-mates, Emanuele Pirro and Marco Werner, winning the 24 Hours "slot car" of Südschleife for the second consecutive time.
Aged 46, Frank Biela also participates in the Volkswagen Scirocco R-Cup championship. During the last 24 Hours of Le Mans, he worked as a commentator for Eurosport.
