The 2019 24 Hours of Le Mans for High Class Racing (LMP2)

43 teams (fielding 61 cars) competed in the 87th 24 Hours of Le Mans, the Super Finale of the FIA WEC 2018-19 World Endurance Championship. There were winners, of course, but also mechanical glitches, track incidents and early retirements. Joy for some, disappointment for others... Here’s a summary of the 24 Hours of Le Mans for the High Class Racing team, which ran in the LMP2 class.

Team: High Class Racing

Class: LMP2

Car: ORECA 07-Gibson

Drivers:

  • Anders Fjordbach (1st participation)
  • Dennis Andersen (1st participation)
  • Mathias Beche (7th participation)

This year, High Class Racing took its first start in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The #20 ORECA 07-Gibson qualified in 18th position with a time of 3:27.610 clocked by Swiss driver Mathias Beche during the third session. In the race, the car was often observed off its line by track marshals. The Danish team was slowed by a telemetry problem as well as a detour into a gravel trap for Dennis Andersen on Sunday at 14:10. The car crossed the finish line in 16th place overall and 11th in the LMP2 class.
