The 24 Hours of Le Mans at Autosport International in Birmingham

The Ford GT will be making its first public appearance on the main stage at the Autosport International, the world's biggest racing car show, held in Birmingham this week, 14

Professionals get first peek at the cars, before the general public, to whom the doors open on 16 January. Meanwhile, the Ford GT was in action at the Daytona International Speedway last weekend for the official test sessions for the Rolex 24 at Daytona.

The action is set to continue as the car is entered for both the American WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and the World Endurance Championship this season. Two of the drivers, Andy Priaulx and Marino Franchitti will be at the show on Saturday 16 January.

They won’t be the only stars of the show. Three-time Le Mans 24 Hours winner and Audi ambassador Allan McNish will also be in Birmingham. Of course, the Porsche 919 Hybrid will be taking her share of the limelight too, she who took Nico Hülkenberg, Earl Bamber and Nick Tandy to Porsche’s seventeenth win at Le Mans last year.
