The 24 Hours of Le Mans on display at the Louvre thanks to Strakka Racing (Dome)

The 3D printing revolution is in full swing and the number of shows dedicated to this innovation is constantly growing. Today and tomorrow the Dome with which Strakka Racing competed at the 24 Hours of Le Mans this year is being exhibited at the 3D Printshow Paris Ltd. at the Carrousel du Louvre.

Victorious in 2010 in the LM P2 class at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, but also and especially, overall in the Hungarian round of the Le Mans Series ahead of faster LM P1s, Strakka Racing decided thereafter to climb the last rung and enter the LM P1 class. After a brief stint in LM P1, the British outfit returned to LM P2, but had to abandon the 2014 campaign of the World Endurance Championship (WEC) in order to develop the Dome chassis.

After mixed results at the 2015 24 Hours of Le Mans, Strakka Racing chose to change cars and switch to a Gibson before leaping once again into LM P1 next year with a house chassis. The Dome was therefore available for display at the Salon de Paris dedicated to 3D printing with Stratasys, one of the partners of the team managed by Dan Walmsley, the Gibson in transit between Fuji and Shanghai, the sixth and seventh rounds of the 2015 WEC season.

The car used by Jonny Kane, Nick Leventis and Danny Watts even figures on the salon's poster!
