The 24 Hours of Le Mans winners receive their World Champion trophy

With nine-time 24 Hours of Le Mans winner Tom Kristensen watching on, Romain Dumas, Neel Jani and Marc Lieb were awarded their World Endurance Drivers Champion trophy, and Fritz Enzinger accepted the World Endurance Manufacturers Champion trophy on behalf of Porsche.

At the annual FIA gala, which took place this year at Hofburg, one of the two imperial palaces in Vienna, Austria, the winning trio at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in June with Porsche was officially crowned World Endurance Drivers Champions, and Porsche was awarded the Manufacturers trophy in the presence of countless endurance players such as official Toyota drivers Mike Conway and Kamui Kobayashi.

The trophy for Formula E, the electric car championship under the auspices of the FIA, was awarded to one of their teammates, Sébastien Buemi, one of the three unfortunate heroes of the 84th edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The Swiss driver watched on from pit lane as the car driven by his teammate, Kazuki Nakajima, broke down in the final lap of the 24 Hours, costing the Japanese manufacturer the win.
