Let's set the scene: around noon on Test Day, Sunday 3 June at the 24 Hours circuit. Marco Sørensen has a terrifying incident going into the Indianapolis turn at the wheel of the #95 Aston Martin Vantage. He emerges unscathed, but the car is demolished. Darren Turner, his teammate and three-time GT winner at Le Mans, explains what came next: "We had the incident on Sunday morning. When the car got back to the pit, the mechanics examined it and determined a new chassis was needed. The car arrived in Britain on Monday, but the production team had already been working through the night. They were able to begin rebuilding the car on Monday and install the new engine so the car was ready for the paint shop by Monday evening. The race team arrived Tuesday from Le Mans and worked on the car 24 hours a day in shifts. The car was completely finished by Friday morning for the shakedown that I did myself. The #95 is perfect. I think it's the fastest car in the history of Aston Martin Racing! I am genuinely impressed by every effort made by the staff in Banbury (location of Prodrive's headquarters where racing Aston Martin Vantages are prepared, Ed.) and the work accomplished in such a short time. I want to congratulate them, I'm so proud. Now we're ready for the sessions on Wednesday, as if nothing had happened. The incident will change absolutely nothing about our performance."

The #95 Aston Martin Vantage, nicknamed the "Dane Train" (its driver line-up was at one time entirely Danish; the name was kept even after the arrival of Darren Turner who is in fact a Brit), is now rebuilt and ready to take part in the first sessions tomorrow after getting the green light at Scrutineering.
