The balance of performance adjusted in LM GTE

The latest Balance of Performance adjustment has been announced heading into next month's 24 Hours of Le Mans.

The Endurance Committee of the FIA and the WEC issued a change to the Balance of Performance for LM GTE on May 22.  The adjustment will slightly improve the performance of the Porsche GT3 RSR entries following an increase of restrictor diameter of 0.3 mm, representing a 2.1% increase in air to the engine.  The Aston Martin Vantage model must carry an additional 10 kg following the latest data review which includes the strong race performance at the recent Silverstone WEC event.

The Aston Martin Vantage is no longer the lightest entry in the class, with that distinction now reserved for the Porsche GT3 RSR.  The heaviest LM-GTE entries on the grid as the cars roll for the test day at Le Mans will be the BMW Z4 and Chrysler Viper.

No performance changes were made to the Ferrari 458 Italia following their sweep of both GTE-Pro and GTE-Am at Spa last month.
