For the third year in succession, the Le Mans 24-Hours race will have its own advertising campaign starting this weekend. The Facebook page fans “24 Heures du Mans – ACO Official” will have a scoop with the Grande Première this Friday accompanied by a game for the surfers.
Not one but two different advertising spots created by the Wizz company under the supervision of the La Fourmi agency will be shown on Saturday 25th February (on cable and satellite TV). The first 20-second film is about the race/club, and it will be followed by a second spot lasting 10 seconds much more focused on ticket purchases. This campaign will end on 15th April.
The longer spot will start with an allusion to the history of the race plus a quick foretaste of what’s in store for the 80th Le Mans 24 Hours.
This TV campaign is scheduled to be shown 595 times on the terrestrial cable and satellite TV channels. Media by Design is looking after its scheduling and it will be broadcast with the major sporting events and sports programmes – not just those dealing with the motor car – as well as the specialized sports channels.
The Automobile Club de l’Ouest has decided to thank its many fans by unveiling the first spot as a Grande Premiere on its Facebook page on Friday 24th February at 10h00. It can then be viewed on the lemans.org site.
In addition, a game for the fans will take place based around the broadcasting of this film, and the winner will receive two pitwalk passes for the 2012 Le Mans 24 Hours. These passes worth 960 euros (480 euros each) will enable the lucky winners to see what goes on the behind the scenes of the event in June with access to the entrants paddock and also to the pit lane during its opening to a select public.
To win, give the correct answer to the following question, on the Facebook page “24 Heures du Mans ACO Official”:
At what time and on what terrestrial channel will the first advertising spot for the 2012 Le Mans 24 Hours be shown? A clue, it will be on Sunday 26th February. Answers must give the exact hour and minute.
The winner will be drawn at random – under the control of a bailiff – from among the correct replies received. His/her name will be published on Facebook shortly afterwards as soon as the usual checks have been carried out.
