Seven European teams swelled the ALMS grid at Petit Le Mans. The LM P2 title was decided between Oak Racing and Thiriet by TDS Racing by a margin of one second.
After a successful start to the season at Le Castellet and in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in LM P2 category, the French team Thiriet by TDS Racing ended their brilliant 2012 season with the title in the European Le Mans Series. For their first time at Petit Le Mans, the duo Beche-Thiriet were joined (as at Le Mans) by the experienced Tinseau. After 1000 miles (1609 km), the No.46 Oreca Nissan crossed the finish line in fourth position of the LM P2 class (5th overall), only one lap behind the class winning Honda. Switzerland's Mathias Beche will be back on track on Friday for free practice at the 6 Hours of Shanghai with Allan Docking Racing (ADR Delta).
