This weekend will see the rebirth of the Bercy Kart Masters, the final confrontation scene Prost-Senna in 1993. This time the stars will be the drivers of Endurance!

Sebastien Bourdais (Peugeot), Franck Montagny (Peugeot), Stéphane Sarrazin (Peugeot), Romain Dumas (Audi), Julien Jousse (Pescarolo) and Olivier Lombard (Greaves Motorsport) ... Six of the twenty star drivers are regular competitors in endurance racing. They will face two masters from rallying, Sébastien Loeb and Sébastien Ogier, as well as two new French F1 drivers Romain Grosjean and Charles Pic.

For his return to POBP, the organizer Philippe Streiff moved away from single-cylinder two-stroke engines to 20 kW electric power. A next-generation technology that will put all the drivers on an equal footing ... Or almost: some have already contacted the Sodikart STX, like the Sebastian Bourdais and Ogier, who tested on the Circuit Alain Prost at Le Mans.

Franck Montagny, driver Peugeot Sport : "It is a pleasure to return to the Bercy Kart, event that I won in 1999 ... that time, I drove in F3000 and I still had long hair! I look forward to racing with my team-mates and opponents in good humour and no issues ... Well, it's the same every time: at the beginning everyone has a smile and then a serious face in the early practice sessions. Then, the reflexes return and we perhaps make a little adjustment or change in driving position that we will save time. I have not tried electric karting, and I'm curious to see what will happen. In any case, I like the idea of promoting green competition. We'll put on a show! "

Romain Dumas, driver Audi Motorsport : "I drove a kart on Wednesday to put me back in the groove. It's been several years since I last practiced. I had forgotten how much it hurts your forearms. I consider this event as a celebration of motor sport. The result will not matter. It is especially important that we provide a good show to the public. "

Julien Jousse, pilote Pescarolo Team : "I was still young when I discovered this incredible event, yet I remember seeing stars race on my TV during the battle between Senna and Prost in 1993, or Schumacher in 1999 ... It is an honuor for me to have been invited to race great champions like Sébastien Loeb, and look forward to being at the start. I started karting when I was just 10 years old. I have fond memories of the four seasons of kart racing for regional and national awards, so returning to the wheel of one of these little cars 11 years after my last race will be fun! Especially as technology has evolved since ... I am curious about these electric karts, I think this initiative is very good for the future of our sport. "
