This weekend: Kristensen represents endurance in the Race of Champions

As has become traditional, the Race of Champions concludes the 2011 season. The best representatives of each discipline compete on Saturday and Sunday in the Esprit Arena in Düsseldorf.

The celebrations of the twenty-fourth Race of Champions begin on Saturday with the Nations Cup in which drivers are arranged by nationality. In 2005, Tom Kristensen won this race along with Mattias Ekström at the Stade de France. This year, the Danes will be include rally driver Juho Hänninen. On their way, the representatives of the team "Scandinavia" will face high calibere teams from France (Ogier-Grosjean) and a Germany (Schumacher, Vettel) !

On Sunday, eighteen drivers will be present the for the 'individual' Race of Champions. To date, only three circuit drivers have managed to beat the rally drivers in this event: Filipe Albuquerque, Heikki Kovalainen and Mattias Ekström (three times).

Tom Kristensen,  Audi driver in endurance racing : "We meet people from all disciplines of motorsport. There is great camaraderie, but when we put our helmets, it's always a challenge. It's a nice way to have one last race before Christmas. "

Andy Priaulx, BMW driver in endurance racing : "I was runner-up several times so hopefully will do even better this time. Jenson (Button) had an excellent season in F1 ... So we'll see. Nothing is ever granted. All the guys are very close."
