Today in History - Henry Birkin wins two non-consecutive Le Mans editions

On November 4, 1884, Grover Cleveland became the first President of the United States to win two non-consecutive elections. On June 14, 1931, Sir Henry Birkin became the first driver to win twice (non-consecutively) at the 24 Hours of Le Mans after 1929.

Sir Henry "Tim" Birkin (one of the most famous Bentley Boys) won with his buddy Woolf "Babe" Barnato three victories in a row between 1928 and 1930 in a famous Bentley Speed Six the first time, but owes his second and last win to Alfa Romeo. The British aristocrat, who went into motorsports a bit late in life, nonetheless took two out of five starts at Le Mans with the Italian marque!
