Today in History - KCMG, the first Chinese team to win the 24 Hours (2015)

On November 5, 2007, Chang’e 1 became the first Chinese spacecraft to orbit the moon. On June 14, 2015, Honk Kong-based team KCMG emerged as the first Chinese outfit to clinch a class win, in LM P2, at the 24 Hours of Le Mans (third attempt).

The first two appearances by the KCMG team led by Paul Ip concluded in retirements, but the third time was a charm for the new Oreca 05...and for a supercharged Nicolas Lapierre, well-supported by Richard Bradley and Matt Howson. KCMG now holds three records: first Chinese team to take the start at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, to cross the finish line and to win a class victory!
