Today's Photo Story - Timo Bernhard debuts at the 2002 24 Hours of Le Mans with Porsche

On November 8, 1880, acclaimed actress Sarah Bernhardt made her debut in New York at the Booth Theater. On June 15, 2002, Timo Bernhard - who would finish first in the overall standings eight years later with Audi - took the start at the 24 Hours of Le Mans for the first time with Porsche in GT.

Timo Bernhard is a member of a very exclusive club of drivers to win at their first participation with his class win in the Porsche 911 entered by The Racer’s Group, along with Kevin Buckler and Lucas Luhr. The German driver would go on to claim a podium finish three times in GT in 2002, 2005 and 2013, and twice overall in 2010 (victory) and 2015.
