The training, organized by the Automobile Club de l’Ouest, is unique in France. In addition to the introduction to new techniques (as of this year, GTs must be equipped with a driver extraction hatch, for example), the problems encountered during past races are analyzed to find adapted solutions.
The teams are flanked by medical personnel from the ACO, but also from the FIA and FFSA, and by doctors from several European circuits. After the theory, practice exercises are offered and a test certifies the training at the end of the day; foreign teams undergo the training on Saturday and then make room for their French counterparts.
For the occasion, Porsche has lent a model of the 919 Hybrid that won at the 24 Hours of Le Mans last year, but rally and single-seater cars, including an F1, are also available.
