A British figure in the press room of the 24 Hours of Le Mans has recently passed away: Winner of the Communication Award of the Automobile Club de l'Ouest in 2003, Janice Minton succumbed to a long illness.

Like many of our colleagues across the Channel, Janice Minton had a great passion for 24 hours. Among other duties, she worked for Radio Le Mans, and later Club Arnage. She was also press agent for the Nasamax team at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2003 and 2004. In 2003 Nasamax entered a Reynard-Judd in the LMP1 class, driven by Robbie Sterling, Werner Luepberger and Romain Dumas, future winner of the 24 Hours in 2010. That year was his third 24 hours, and his first driving a prototype.

For the 90th edition of the great rendezvous of endurance racing on the 22nd and 23rd June 2013, there is no doubt that the press room will remember Janice Minton, and she will also remain the memory of all who, in their own way have contributed to the saga of the 24 Hours, both motorsport professionals and race fans.

To her family and loved ones, the Automobile Club de l'Ouest expresses its deepest sympathy.
