Ryan Briscoe was already a part of the group last year as a third driver for the long races of the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship. He will join the duo Antonio Garcia-Jan Magnussen for the two first races of the season, while Simon Pagenaud will support Oliver Gavin and Tommy Milner. The French driver who reached the second step on the the podium at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2011 with Peugeot, will trade his IndyCar single-seater for the Corvette C7.R that finished second in the LM GTE Pro class last year in La Sarthe.
Simon Pagenaud: "Corvette is truly an American motorsports and sportscar icon. When I was rolling for another constructor, I always noticed the presence of Corvette and Chevrolet fans. I've often said Corvette Racing has a quality program with good drivers and a fantastic team. Their results speak for themselves. I am thrilled to now be a part of it. It's a very different driving experience from a prototype, but I already have experience in GT."
Pagenaud will join his former teammate with Peugeot, Sébastien Bourdais, who won the 24 Hours of Daytona last year, and who also rolls in IndyCar. However, neither of the two will be at the start of the 83rd edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans this year since they will be in Toronto, Canada for IndyCar, just like Ryan Briscoe. If Corvette Racing is on the invitees list in La Sarthe, one of the two duos will be supported once again by Jordan Taylor, who just announced his participation on Twitter.
The test sessions for the 24 Hours of Daytona will take place January 9th through the 11th and the start of the race will be given Saturday, January 24th.
