The American season, BAR1 Motorsport is aiming to win one of the remaining five rounds of the championship. After a second place (Sebring), three fourth places (Long Beach, Mazda Raceway, Lime Rock), the team won third place at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park on the 21st of July.

Canadian drivers Kyle Marcelli and Chris Cumming, in the ORECA FLM09 held its opponents at a distance, in the previous test. Cumming took the first stint of the race battling hard through a traffic jam of other Prototype Challenge cars and a group of GT competitors locked in a battle of their own. Unfortunately, while battling side-by-side with another PC car, the cars made slight contact coming off turn 10. The two spun off track together. The delay put the No. 8 car a lap of the pace.

Undeterred, the team fought back and Chris eventually got the car back on the lead lap. Marcelli climbed in with just less than an hour remaining and brought the car home for a 3rd. place finish.

It’s especially nice to do it on Canadian soil for our Canadian drivers, Marcelli and Cumming. "It was especially great to see both BAR1 cars running in the top 3 for the first hour of the race.Tomy and Chris both had great opening stints. They even got to enjoy a few good battles with each other on track.”
