Video : Bentley preparing a return to Le Mans ?

It is not really a secret, since Bentley unveiled its new concept of Continental GT3 at the Paris motor show in 2012. The British firm is now preparing to write a new page in its competition history.

In recent months, rumours have become stronger. It is hard to imagine that after six victories in the 24 Hours of Le Mans (1924, 1927, 1928, 1929, 1930 and 2003), the prestigious British marque would never return. What is certain is that since unveiling the new concept, it is now reality. Brian Gush and engineers in charge of the project, should see the car turn its first laps very soon. The road version of the Continental GT had a racing makeover, weight loss and especially the loss of its interior aesthetics. Carbon fibre appeared, as did new equipment and a mandatory roll cage to meet the regulations on competition cars. As for engines, a 4.0-litre V8 bi-turbo matched to a sequential six-speed gearbox is expected. In total, and after only a few months developent, the racing version weighs in at a tonne less than the original model. Everything has been designed, verified, monitored, to make the Continental GT3, a sleek and fast car, enough to confirm the rumours in the paddock: Bentley is back in business!

Discover in this the new Bentley GT3 in this video, perhaps a future front runner of endurance racing.
