This is a heart-warming story, of the Le Mans 24 Hours and "Chip" Miller, who saw the Corvette as the true American sports car. In 1960, he was high school and developed a passion for the Corvette when it won its class at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, finishing eighth in the hands of John Fitch and Bob Grossman (#3). From that moment, "Chip" Miller had only one dream: to become the owner of this car. With the help of one of his friends, he finally found it converted to a road going Corvette. He managed secure it, and began restoration in October 2000, with the invaluable assistance of John Fitch, to 1960 Le Mans configuration.

Alas, "Chip" Miller died in 2004. His son continued the adventure by deciding to bring the car and John Fitch to La Sarthe. And the dream became a reality in 2010: invited by Corvette Racing to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of the first appearance at the 24 hours. John Fitch is filmed wheel of the #3 on the 24 Hours circuit at 93 years old! Born August 4, 1917 in Indianapolis, another legend of motorsport, John Fitch died on 31 October 2012, but his racing legacy remains. For taking the Corvette to win its class in its first participation at Le Mans, this pioneer paved the way for seven successful factory team entries with Doug Fehan (between 2001 and 2011) and two Larbre (2011 -2012).
