Announced earlier this year by Pratt & Miller, and after months of work, the new C7.R recently completed its first session at Monterey (California).

After more than nine years of competition, three victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and en route to a sixth ALMS series title, the Corvette C6.R will bow-out at the end of this season, into a well-deserved retirement. But Corvette Racing could end such a brilliant career without considering a replacement, the C7.R.
Rumours abound, and we had heard a lot about this new car. But now it is real. As GM and Pratt & Miller (Head of Development) confirmed that the car is on its way and has just completed its first laps at Monterey California. While waiting to see it evolve under the banner of Corvette Racing, it will be involved in some serious private testing before its appearance at a weekend test session before opening round of the United Sports Car Racing series, the 24 Hours of Daytona.
With fourteen entries in the 24 Hours of Le Mans for the C5 and C6, the C7 Corvette is on the way to a new page in the Le Mans history of the marque.
