WEC and Le Mans - André Lotterer (Audi) isn't giving up!

Despite the significant gap with Porsche at the end of the qualifying session, the German driver and his teammates F

More than a two-second gap between the No. 1 Porsche in the pole and the first Audi. Is that surprising?
"We expected more. We were thinking third and five-tenths! Porsche has a nice buffer. It will be a little more complicated this afternoon. The track is a bit more difficult due to the heat, but it's the same for everyone. It will be a little tighter in race conditions but the gap is still important. I think we are somewhat too light in aero, especially in the second sector where we lose the most."

Is Le Mans coming a little too soon for you this season?
"The technical challenges are important but Le Mans always arrives too early. It's a new car, but long-planned. We do what we can to be in time. We noticed at Silverstone it's possible to give it a go. No glitches, a well-balanced car, we showed it can be done. This year, the 24 Hours will be a big challenge at every level, including for us the drivers. Technically, there are a lot of new things on the cars and we are working very hard. We work hard, but new parts are not made overnight. They must be produced, tested and validated during testing. It will not be easy, but that's Le Mans."

What are you hoping for this afternoon?
"During the free practice, we really focused on the race. We tried to tweak the car with the Le Mans aero ensemble. We added just a bit of downforce. It will be heated, but we're going to fight!"
