WEC - Mecachrome engine confirmed for the new Ginetta LM P1

Early January, Ginetta unveiled its non-hybrid LM P1 prototype project for 2018 and specified negotiations were underway with Mecachrome to provide the engine. Today the British constructor confirmed a partnership with the French company.

In the wake of a visit to the Mecachrome workshops in Aubigny-sur-Nère, France, Ginetta Technical Director Ewan Baldry decided the French engine supplier was the ideal partner to power its future prototype whose program is in the process of being finalized.

Next month, the car - which will see the light of day thanks to the new non-hybrid LM P1 regulations - will be unveiled to interested teams and drivers.
