Though drivers enjoy the layout of the circuit known as Interlagos, cars don't because of the bumpy surface. This feature of the Brazilian circuit may well disappear after the resurfacing of the track and pit lane which should be completed before the F1 Grand Prix takes place early November, and then the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) six-hour race on November 30th.

The new asphalt is only the first stage of a modernization project in full swing at a cost of $160 million, agreed upon by the city of São Paulo: the site manager wants to attract more visitors because motorsports generate significant revenues for local economy. New garages should be built as well, but in the meantime the current pits are to improved.

The Autodromo Jose Carlos Pace will host the 6 Hours of São Paolo, last round of the 2014 season of the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC), that will take place November 30th.
