WEC - Timo Bernhard (Porsche) presents the 919 Hybrid (video)

In 2014, Porsche, who holds the victories record at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, made its return to endurance in the head class all while pursuing its GT program, from which came Timo Bernhard, a driver under one of the longest official Porsche contracts.

When Porsche returned to prototypes in the LM P2 class with the RS Spyder, Timo Bernhard was chosen, as was Romain Dumas, to take on the challenge. It was a good decision as the duo made the project a success by winning the 12 Hours of Sebring against all odds in the face of more powerful cars.

In the absence of an LM P1 program, Porsche "lent" Bernhard and Dumas to Audi which allowed them to win the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2010, but the duo returned to the fold to develop the Porsche 919 Hybrid, an innovative prototype the German driver presents in this video.
