For those fans and followers of motorsport in general, and of the WEC’s thrilling, action-packed, high performance races in particular, who cannot be at the race in person, the following areas are where the WEC can be seen on TV.

EUROPE

LIVE and direct on the Europe-wide Eurosport 1 from 17H00 to 19H15 CET (16H00 to 18H15 BST) and the entire race on Motors TV.

AUSTRIA

ORF will show the entire race LIVE and direct.

FRANCE

Following yesterday’s excellent news about the new free-to-air WEC coverage to be shown this season by l’Equipe 21, French TV viewers now have multiple choices about how to follow the 6 Hours of Silverstone and the seven remaining 6-hour races. L’Equipe 21 will broadcast the starting grid live from 12Hh30 to 13H00 and the last hour of the race. As a reminder, from Nürburgring, all WEC races will be shown LIVE and in their entirety by the channel. The race will also be shown on Eurosport 1 live from 17H00-19H15, and the whole race on Motors TV live and direct.

GERMANY

Eurosport 1’s coverage of the key moments of the race, featuring among others World Champions Porsche and challengers Audi and Toyota, will be shown from 17H00 to 19H15 CET. Motors TV will also show the race live in Germany.

UK

If the passionate and loyal fans of endurance racing in Britain can’t be at Silverstone this weekend, they can watch some of the action on Eurosport 1 or 2 from 18H30 to 19H15 CET (17H30 to 18H15 BST) and the whole race live on Motors TV. Also confirmed for UK TV viewers is live coverage from Quest TV between 16H00 and 18H15.

THE AMERICAS

With the 6 Hours of Mexico in Latin America and the 6 Hours of Circuit of The Americas in the USA this year, the WEC coverage will be handled by the FOX network who have increased their commitment to the WEC with a dedicated team including veteran broadcasters Bob Varsha and Calvin Fish for the English-speaking coverage. The whole race will be shown live on FOX Sports 1 and FOX Sports 2.

UNITED STATES, CANADA, CARIBBEAN

FOX Sports will broadcast LIVE the entire race with the first two hours being on FOX Sports 1 and the subsequent four hours on FOX Sports 2.

CENTRAL AND SOUTH AMERICA

FOX Sport Latin 1 will show the first and last hour live.

MIDDLE EAST AND AFRICA

ASIA AND AUSTRALASIA

Following the entire 33-car field, but Japan’s Toyota Gazoo Racing and the Chinese-entered Baxi DC Racing Alpine in particular, Eurosport and FOX Sports will broadcast the race live and direct across the Pan-Asian region.

JAPAN

J-Sports has increased its coverage to show the full race LIVE on J-Sports 3.

CHINA

LETV (IPTV) will be live to 80 million homes in China showing the full race, while CCTV5 will show news edits of the race within its hugely popular Autotimes show.

AUSTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND

FOX Sports 5 will be showing the full race live and direct in Australia, covering the beginning of Mark Webber’s title defence with Porsche. In New Zealand viewers can follow fellow Porsche driver and World Champion Brendon Hartley, as well as Richie Stanaway, on TV3.

OTHER BROADCASTS

In addition to a number of different news access options across the UK and Europe, including the WEC’s digital media partner Motorsport.com, fans worldwide can follow the race LIVE on HD with commentary led by John Hindhaugh and Graham Goodwin, on the FIA WEC APP.
