Yoshimasa Hayashi wins Spirit of LM trophy

  Yoshimasa Hayashi has been awarded the 2011 Spirit of Le Mans Trophy.

  The 63 year old  former competition manager of Nissan has been awarded this year's trophy. Under his direction Nissan scored some brilliant results:

  - Pole position for the 1990 Le Mans 24 Hours and 5th in the race.

  - Victory in the Daytona 24 Hours.

  - Triple Japanese champion in JSPC (Japanese Sports Prototypes.

  - Group A quadruple champion.

  - IMSA USA quadruple GTP champion.

  In April 1994 he joined Tokai University where he deigned a new system for teaching engineering through motor sport.

  With the help of his students he was behind the entry of a car at Le Mans in 2008 and in the 2009 and 2010 Asian Le Mans Series.
