24 Heures du Mans 2016 - Audi heads the warm-up

Competitors in the 24 Hours of Le Mans took to the track earlier this morning for a 45-minute warm-up session ahead of the race at 15:00.

Emmanuel Collard in the #83 Ferrari 458 Italia was first out but the first to set a benchmark lap time was Oliver Jarvis in the #8 Audi R18. He banked 03:29.173 before Mike Conway in the #6 Toyota TS050 Hybrid bettered it with 03:27.129. André Lotterer set the best time of the session (03.25.886) in the #7 Audi. The #6 Toyota and #2 Porsche 919 Hybrid were second and third.

In the other classes the #26 Oreca (3:40.724), the#68 Ford GT (03:57.397) and the #88 Porsche 911 RSR (4:00.162) were fastest in LM P2, LM GTE Pro and LM GTE Am respectively.

There was a 15-minute red-flag interlude caused by Paul-Loup Chatin of Panis-Barthez Compétition coming off at the Porsche curves with the #23 Ligier JS P2. The warm-up ended early, at 09:35 when David Cheng (#35 Alpine) finished up in the tyre wall at Indianapolis.
