24 Highlights of 2015 (10) - Swiss endurance as reliable as clockwork

Switzerland has long been a nation of endurance racing and the 2015 season was no exception.

This year, the country adds three titles to an already impressive record, two in the World Endurance Championship (WEC) and the other in the European Le Mans Series (ELMS).

Champions Mathias Beche and Gary Hirsch - Mathias Beche and Nicolas Prost won the FIA Endurance Trophy For Private LMP1 Teams with Rebellion Racing. In ELMS, Gary Hirsch shared the LM P2 drivers’ title with Bjorn Wirdheim (Sweden) and Jon Lancaster (GB). The crew won two races for British team Greaves Motorsport in the Gibson-Nissan.

The Rebellion Racing reign continues - The FIA Endurance Trophy for Private LM P1 teams has not changed hands since the World Endurance Championship was launched and went to Rebellion Racing once again. The Swiss team claimed four victories with the R-One this season, despite having entered the competition late in the year, from the 24 Hours of Le Mans onwards, due to a last-minute engine change. However, Team ByKolles with the CLM P1/01 gave Rebellion a run for their money this season, taking first place in two races.
