24 Hours of Le Mans – First Test Day action

Test Day is still in the early stages, but the leader board is already shaping up. Toyota Gazoo Racing is already flexing its muscles while in LM GTE Pro, Corvette Racing and Porsche GT Team have a tenth of a second between them.

Track action began at 09:00 this morning, in preparation for the forthcoming 24 Hours of Le Mans on 15-16 June. In the first hour, 49 of the 62 cars in the field had completed at least one timed lap. Conditions are ideal and the circuit is bathed in sunshine. The temperature this morning is already 23°C.

Timewise, the #7 Toyota TS050 Hybrid driven by Mike Conway, Kamui Kobayashi and José Maria Lopez has clocked the best lap on 03:22.027, ahead of the #8 stablemate on 03:23.352. The #17 BR Engineering BR1-AER fielded by Russian team SMP Racing rounds off the top three with 03:24.529.
In LMP2, the #31 Oreca 07-Gibson DragonSpeed leads the field, in sixth place overall on 03:32.518.
Corvette Racing and Porsche GT Team are already engrossed in a game of one-upmanship in LMGTE Pro. The #63 Chevrolet Corvette C7.R crewed by Magnussen/Garcia/Rockenfeller currently has the upper hand, on 03:59.152, just ahead of the #93 Porsche 911 RSR on 03:59.161.
Finally, in LMGTE Am class, the Spirit Of Race #54 Ferrari 488 GTE (Flohr/Castellaci/Fisichella) leads the way on 04:01.036.
