Daniil Kvyat is joining G-Drive Racing’s FIA World Endurance Championship programme. The former Formula One driver will make his Le Mans début in this year’s race (11-12 June).
Daniil Kvyat will spearhead G-Drive Racing’s LMP2 challenge in the FIA World Endurance Championship, including the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The former Formula One driver, who has clocked up no fewer than 110 Grand Prix starts, will team up with James Allen and René Binder for the Russian outfit’s return to a full-season FIA WEC programme. The team led by Roman Rusinov scored several LMP2 class wins between 2012 and 2017 and secured the championship crown in 2015. In addition to its successes on the world stage, G-Drive Racing has also picked up three European Le Mans Series titles, winning ten races in the process.
The 90th 24 Hours of Le Mans will undoubtedly be the high point of an intriguing season that will see a top-quality LMP2 field challenge for championship honours.
