A corner for Kristensen, nine-time winner at Le Mans, at the Sebring circuit!

Tom Kristensen is the win record-holder at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, with nine victories, but also at the 12 Hours of Sebring, with six. Now the Danish driver's name will be permanently linked to the Sebring International Raceway which has just christened the third turn the Kristensen Corner.

Though he retired from competition at the end of 2014, Tom Kristensen's record remains unparalleled, and will be for awhile since the Dane has set the bar so high. With nine victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, he has three wins on Jacky Ickx. Though his record at the 12 Hours of Sebring stopped at six, his former teammate Rinaldo "Dindo" Capello did not go past five, but as the Italian has also ended his career, the record will stand for some time to come.

In addition to the number of victories, Kristensen's stats at Sebring are stunning. The Danish driver holds the record for best laps in a race - six, the distance record during a race which he has shared with Allan McNish and Capello since 2009 - 1,417.1 miles at the wheel of an Audi R15 TDI, and the top average speed during a race - 117.98 mph also in 2009.

The most impressive aspect is Kristensen has only participated in the 12 Hours of Sebring 13 times. Therefore, he has nearly a 50% success rate, a number he reached at Le Mans with nine wins in 18 participations.

With the Kristensen Corner, the Dane, who will be inducted into the Sebring Hall of Fame this year, is a definitive part of the history of the 12 Hours of Sebring.
