An Audi A4 passes million-kilometre mark on 24-Hours circuit!

Ahead of the 24 Hours of Le Mans last month, three-time winner Benoît Tréluyer drove an Audi with a difference on the full Circuit de la Sarthe, taking it past the million-kilometre milestone.

As well as the #7 Audi R18 that he shares with Marcel Fässler and André Lotterer, Benoît Tréluyer took the wheel of a more civilised model during the week leading up to the race. He was spotted driving an Audi A4 with a 2.5-litre V6 engine and quattro technology that belongs to a local man. “When I heard about that story, I was really touched,” Tréluyer says. “Laurent lives in Le Mans and used to do nearly 100,000 km a year in his car. He dreamed about passing the million-kilometre mark on the Le Mans circuit. Now he cannot drive any more so his children came up with the idea of asking an Audi driver to finalise the one million kilometres, with him in the car.”

Tréluyer was happy to oblige, taking the car beyond the symbolic 999,999-kilometre milestone. A fantastic testimony to the reliability of this model! “The relationship Laurent has with his car is more like a partnership. He had to drive all over France, going everywhere, which is why he chose an Audi, for its reliability and the quattro (Audi’s four-wheel drive system).”

Audi Sport has released this video that tells the touching tale of Laurent’s dream that Benoît Tréluyer helped come true.
