Thailand will play host to the third round of the 2018-19 Asian Le Mans Series next weekend with the 4 Hours of Buriram. After two exciting races, a fierce battle is once again in store across all classes.
Nineteen cars are expected to make up the grid in Thailand next weekend for the 4 Hours of Buriram.
The LMP2 field will be made up exclusively of Ligier JS P2s. Six of them will start the race. A notable absentee, however, will be Shanghai winner Spirit Of Race’s #8 Ligier JS P2-Nissan. The #24 Ligier JS P2-Judd fielded by Algarve Pro Racing and driven by Andea Pizzitola and Harrison Newey will be looking to cut the 12-point gap on the championship leader, the #22 Ligier JS P2-Nissan of United Autosports.
The LMP3 grid features eight cars. After missing out on the 4 Hours of Fuji, Stephane Kox will be back behind the wheel of R24’s Ligier JS P3.
Five GTs complete the grid. Chinese outfit Tianshi Racing Team will again enter two Audis, drafting in French driver Jean Karl Vernay to team up with Alex Au and Chen Wei An in the #88 R8 LMS. On the strength of its Shanghai and Fuji wins, the #11 Ferrari 488 GT3 fielded by Car Guy will undoubtedly be the one to beat.

Qualifying will take place on Friday at 16:35 local time (UTC+7). The race itself is scheduled to start at 11:45 local time on Saturday. Race fans can follow the qualifying on YouTube or the Asian Le Mans Series Facebook page.
The 4 Hours of Buriram form part of Thailand’s National Children’s Day festivities. Held on the second Saturday in January since 1955, National Children’s Day celebrates the role children play in the country’s development.
