Asian LMS - Aylezo Racing, will it be the first Malaysian team at the 24 Hours of Le Mans?

The Aylezo Racing team, among the 31 competitors on the entry list of the 2016/2017 Asian Le Mans Series season, has one clear goal: to win in the LM P3 class and become the first Malaysian team to take the start at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, in 2017.

In the vein of SMP Racing for Russia and KCMG for China (Hong Kong), will Aylezo Racing be the first team to clinch a class victory for Malaysia at the 24 Hours of Le Mans? In any case, that is the high hope of its owner, Zen Low, who will himself drive the Ginetta LM P3 entered in the Asian championship.

Last week, Aylezo Racing revealed the Ginetta's livery during a reception for its sponsors and also presented its "Journey to Le Mans" campaign to fans. Those who register free online on the website of the team located near the Malaysian capital of Kuala Lumpur will be rewarded when they share or upload to social media photos, videos or info involving the team.

Having come from Lamborghini Super Trofeo and being a newcomer to endurance, Zen Low is aware of the challenges ahead: "It's difficult because the race lasts 24 hours, but also because not just anyone can participate, it takes an invitation. To get one, you have to win the championship, that's why we have to win the Asian Le Mans Series."

Indeed, subject to conditions, the winner in the LM P3 class in the Asian Le Mans Series receives an automatic invitation to the following edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans in LM P2, or in LM GTE Am since LM P3s are not authorized to take the start at Le Mans.

The kickoff of the 2016/2017 Asian LMS season will take place in Zhuhai, China on October 30th.
