Since the inception of the Alpine marque, thanks to its founder Jean Rédélé, no less than 59 factory cars have participated in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, with an overall win in 1978, and class victories namely in LM P2 this year. Currently in the lead of the FIA Endurance LM P2 Teams Trophy provisional standings, Alpine has won four of the seven World Endurance Championship (WEC) races since the beginning of the season.
