Bike recon mission of the 24 Hours of Le Mans circuit for Fernando Alonso and teammates

It wasn't at the wheel of the Toyota TS050 Hybrid he'll share with Sébastien Buemi and Kazuki Nakajima that two-time F1 world champion Fernando Alonso discovered the 24 Hours of Le Mans circuit, opting instead for a bike ride with his teammates.

Fernando Alonso could not have asked for a better mentor! Alexander Wurz, two-time winner and youngest 24 Hours victor to date, played the role of tutor, detailing the subtleties of the track at the temporary stretches of the circuit.

Since the regional roads that make up portions of the 24 Hours of Le Mans circuit were still open to traffic at the time, the Toyota drivers borrowed the bike path along the public roads to (re)learn the track. It was an excellent way to become aware of cornering angles, slopes or small bumps, and perfect their physical condition ahead of Test Day on Sunday 3 June. The start at the 86th edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans will be given on 16 June at 3:00 p.m. local time (tickets)!
