ELMS – 4 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps Race Highlights

The second round of the European Le Mans Series was held on Sunday at Spa-Francorchamps. Watch a summary of the action in this race highlights video.

Warm summer temperatures greeted the 39 teams as they lined up on the Spa-Francorchamps grid for the second four-hour race of the season. The #22 Oreca 07-Gibson fielded by United Autosports took the overall honours at the end of a hotly contested race while the Anglo-American outfit’s #2 Ligier JS P320-Nissan triumphed in the LMP3 class. Kessel Racing’s #74 Ferrari 488 GTE EVO #74 was the first of the LMGTE entries to cross the finish line.

How the 39 teams fared at the 4 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps

The #22 United Autosports Oreca 07-Gibson tops the provisional championship standings with 42 points, seven ahead of its sister car (#32). Graff Racing lies in third position (20 points), followed by G-Drive Racing (18 points) and Richard Mille Racing Team (18 points).
With two wins from pole position in two races, United Autosports comfortably leads the LMP3 field with 52 points – 29 ahead of Eurointernational. Graff is third with 22 points.
On the back of its win at Spa-Francorchamps, Kessel Racing is the new leader in the LMGTE class with 44 points, but the Swiss team holds just a seven-point advantage over the #77 Porsche 911 RSR of Proton Competition.   The German outfit’s second Porsche 911 RSR (#93) rounds out the top three.

The 2020 European Le Mans Series field next heads back to the Circuit Paul Ricard in Le Castellet for the third round on Saturday 29 August. The fourth and fifth rounds are scheduled for Monza (11 October) and Portimão (1 November 2020) respectively.
