ELMS and TUSC on BMW's program in 2015!

The traditional BMW awards ceremony took place Saturday evening near Munich and the German manufacturer took the opportunity to announce its motorsports program for the 2015 season.

The BMW marque has been represented in the U.S. by the team RLL (Rahal Letterman Lanigan) Racing for several years, first in the American Le Mans Series, then in the GTLM class of the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship in 2014. The duos Dirk Müller-John Edwards and Bill Auberlen-Andy Priaulx, who finished seventh and eighth in the Drivers standings, respectively, managed to clinch four poles during the season, dominated in races by the Viper SRTs and the official Corvette C7.Rs.

Next year, BMW Team RLL will again enter two models of the Z4's new version with slightly modified driver line-ups after Andy Priaulx's return to Europe. Though the two Americans, Bill Auberlen and John Edwards, are confirmed, Dirk Werner - who competed in the ALMS in 2011 for the Bavarian constructor - will cross the Atlantic again just like his fellow countryman Lucas Luhr - FIA GT1 World Champion with Nissan in 2011 and victorious in the former LM GT class with Porsche at the 2002 and 2003 24 Hours of Le Mans.

It was in 2003 that Priaulx debuted in the European touring car championship, which later became the World Championship, and dominated it between 2005, the year of his win at the 24 Hours of Nürburgring, and 2007. Third in the LM GTE Pro class in La Sarthe in 2011 with the BMW M3, Priaulx will lead the Z4's campaign, entered by BMW Sports Trophy Team Marc VDS in the European Le Mans Series next season. Already present in GTC in 2014, the Z4, which won the last round at Estoril, will now be entered in LM GTE for a driver line-up whose members will be announced later.

The BMW marque is very involved in endurance: it will compete in the 24 Hours of Nürbrugring again, pursue its efforts in the DTM, the German touring car championship, and intends to secure new talents thanks to its BMW Motorsport Junior program put in place this year.
