The European Le Mans Series has released its calendar for the 2020 season, which will see the top European endurance racing championship visit six different circuits.
Two days of official testing sessions and six four-hour races are on the calendar for next year's European Le Mans Series season. The main change concerns the switch between the Barcelona and Le Castellet rounds. The first race will therefore be the 4 Hours of Barcelona on 5 April 2020. Competitors will then head to Monza (10 May 2020) and Le Castellet (19 July 2020), after the traditional break in June for the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and then Silverstone (5 September 2020). The last two races of the season will be held at Spa-Francorchamps (20 September 2020) and Portimão (25 October 2020).
The LMP2, LMP3 and LMGTE classes will once again battle it out on the track and the new generation of LMP3s will be making its debut in competition. Remember the top two competitors in the LMP2 Teams classification at the end of the season are automatically invited to the 24 Hours of Le Mans the following year, as are the top two in GTE. The first competitor in LMP3 is also invited to the legendary race, but in the LMP2 class.
