The 2020 European Le Mans Series season kicked off on 19 July in Le Castellet, with special health and safety procedures in place in the paddock due to COVID-19. The United Autosports team won both the LMP2 and LMP3 classes in the four-hour race, with the #32 and #2 respectively, after dominating during qualifying. The fastest in-race time was clocked by G-Drive Racing's #26.
Proton Competition's #77 Porsche won the LMGTE class, and a podium finish was claimed by the Iron Lynx team's Ferrari driven by an all-female line-up of Frey, Gostner and Gatting. The Porsche of Michael Fassbender, Laser and Lietz finished seventh in the class.
The next round of the season is scheduled for 9 August at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit in Belgium.
