FIA WEC – The 1000 Miles of Sebring canceled

The 1000 Miles of Sebring, the sixth round of the 2019-2020 FIA World Endurance Championship, set for 18-20 March has been canceled following the announcement made by President Trump regarding an imposed 30-day travel ban from Europe to the U.S.

In the wake of American President Donald Trump's temporary ban on travelers entering the U.S. from Europe (with the exception of American citizens), the FIA WEC considered the possibility of leaving the sixth race of the 2019-2020 season, the 1000 Miles of Sebring, as scheduled on 18-20 March in Florida. However, after careful analysis of the situation, the round has been canceled for the championship.

Countless drivers, team members and officials currently in Europe were expecting to travel to the U.S. in the coming days. It is inconceivable that the race should take place in their absence and the tests scheduled at Sebring on 14-15 will no longer be conducted.

The Total 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium, the next round of the FIA World Endurance Championship, will be held on 25 April.
