FIA WEC – The #8 Toyota clinches last pole of the season at 8 Hours of Bahrain

Brendon Hartley, Gianmaria Bruni, Norman Nato and Sarah Bovy dominated qualifying for this weekend's 8 Hours of Bahrain, final race of the 2022 FIA WEC season.

Brendon Hartley scored a fantastic pole position at the Bahrain International Circuit during qualifying for tomorrow's eight-hour race. He and teammates Sébastien Buemi and Ryo Hirakawa are now ideally situated to win this year's FIA World Endurance Championship. The Australian driver clocked a time of 01:46.8 ahead of the Peugeot TotalEnergies #93 Peugeot 9X8.

Porsche GT Team's #91 911 RSR-19 driven by Gianmaria Bruni beat out AF Corse's Ferrari in the LMGTE Pro class. The battle between these two legendary marques will see the #51 Ferrari and the #92 Porsche go head-to-head for the championship trophy just as they did last season. Meanwhile, the #51 Ferrari ended its qualifying session in stunning fashion when Alessandro Pier Guidi spun the car during his attacking lap.

Realteam by WRT earned its first pole of the year in the LMP2 class thanks to Norman Nato's efforts in the final seconds of his track time. The French driver clocked an outstanding lap in 01:50.33 ahead of the #38 ORECA 07-Gibson driven by Will Stevens.

In LMGTE, Sarah Bovy managed to repeat her performance at Monza at the wheel of Iron Dames' Ferrari with a magnificent pole. TF Sport, leader in the FIA GTE Am Teams Championship classification, will start in second position on the starting grid after Ben Keating was simply unable to snatch the top spot from Bovy.

The start of the 8 Hours of Bahrain will be given tomorrow, Saturday, at 11:00 local time. Follow the race on the official FIA WEC app for real-time results, exclusive content, on-board camera footage, and the option to customise functions and follow your favourite drivers and teams.
